Wetting the Nahib desert

We are back to my old idea about vacuum desalination!  We drop snorkels into the Red Sea, connected to little solar powered vacuum pumps.

We only need to raise the sea by one metre, and it boils into water vapour!  Probably only at 80 cm.  It isn't 1000 times easier to pump as water vapour than liquid water.

So we transport it a kilometre inshore, an event the water vapour over the arid desert.  It forms a cooling mist!  Which are like condenses into rain droplets and falls on the ground.
