free irrigation In Africa are the villages draw water out of a local stream or river, and the water there fix up contaminants and waste, and flows back into the river.  So the next village has to use high pressure filtration or even boiling, to clean up the water before they can use it again. Energy as near the sea, are session the same high energy and potentially dangerous water purification systems, to turn the maintenance sea water into very little fresh water. High school physics shows us a better idea.  We use a little solar powered vacuum pump, to apply one metre of vacuum to the river or sea water.  Which then boils into fuel water vapour.  Leaving all salts and contaminants behind.  And obviously leaving behind all bacteria life forms! We just suck out the purest fresh water on the planet.  Even Perrier water has a little salt in it - for flavor. We would prefer totally fuel water, to irrigate the fields and water the animals.  And water vapour is 1000 times easier to

Make the desserts bloom Engineers have been falling off seawater for millennia and producing free fresh steam.  In the 1980s the funding is cheaper to force a higher pressure seawater through a semi permeable membrane, and extract fresh water. This reverse osmosis is nearly as energy expensive - very dangerous, and requires frequent changing of the filtration membrane. A better idea is to copy nature!  Which uses the deep water swells offshore to boil off seawater. Which is why the deep water waves give rise to high levels or water vapour.  Week in use this effect off shore to free use fresh water.  We have a little vacuum pump.  Driven by a little wind turbine, or solar panel.
